Can I use the file's creation date?

{date} uses today's date. Per-file modification dates aren't exposed by browsers for security reasons. Set the pattern manually for those.

Is the original PDF modified?

No — the file bytes are identical. Only the filename changes inside the .zip.

What if two files end up with the same new name?

JSZip will only keep the last one. Use {n} or {original} in your pattern to avoid collisions; the default "{n}-{original}" is collision-safe.
